The Call to Adventure.

The following is a short poem that I wrote regarding the desire most people have for adventure in their life.

The day to day,
A life of safety and certainty,
One where needs are met, but yet,
Restlessness tugs, pulling on the mind.

There is something amiss,
A faint call that was missed,
For all tranquillity and security,
The spirit still yearns…for adventure.

To venture into the unknown,
To gain stories to tell, to remember,
Of battles hard-fought,
Of triumphant victory and of bitter defeat.
Standing proud regardless for taking the leap.
The only way to learn to fly.

The ever-present call,
Even when life is most mundane,
The call that urges you to follow passions and conviction,
To discover where the winding road will take you.
